The company
James River Nurseries is a family owned and operated landscape construction firm, serving Richmond and Central Virginia since 1983. We handle design, installation, hardscapes and outdoor living from one team, and grow our own plant material on more than 200 acres in Ashland and Montpelier.

One team, from design conception through to completion
We are a single-source, turn-key provider, so the same family owned company that draws your plan grows the plants and builds the work. Our designers study the soil, drainage and microclimate of each property first, then we stay with you from design conception through to completion. What has not changed since 1983 is what we promise every client.
